About the photographer
Andrew Kneath was born in Swansea in 1967. His interest in photography is comparatively recent.
He runs his own computer software business where he designs database applications for various clients up and down Britain. This meant lots of travel and hotel stays. The novelty of staying in hotels quickly wore off for him and he quickly found himself spending summer evenings wandering around the countryside of wherever he happened to be visiting often wishing he had brought a camera...
Eventually he finally bought himself a digital camera (a modest Sony Cybershot DSC-P5) and things quickly grew from there...
Even when not working away from home he found himself wandering around the coastline of his native South Wales particularly the nearby Gower Peninsula.
In next to no time he had built up a huge library of photos. While some of the photos were quite pleasing he quickly became frustrated with the limitations of the camera and moved up to his Canon EOS 300D and more recently the Canon EOS 400D.
The wide lens of the Canons DSLR's meant that he could finally capture the scope of the sweeping landscapes he favours shooting. (Previously he was forever digitally stitching photos together to get the image he was after!) He was also able to take long exposures of waterfalls, many of which are displayed in the gallery.
